New Book: “In a Heartbeat” by the Tuohy’s
The real-life parents of The Blind Side movie fame have published a book to help us all do our small part in changing the world around us (our community).
Here are a few practical steps from the Tuohy’s:
-Find something important to you and be a cheerful giver to that cause. You can give time, money, or in-kind donations.
-Start small. A smile or a compliment can make someone’s day!
-Set a good example for your children and those around you by being generous.
-Get one, give one. Every time you get something new for yourself, donate the old one to a person or organization that can use it.
-Give in person, at least sometimes. Online donations are great, but don’t forget the personal touch.
-Respect every person. Don’t be tempted to think you know all about a person because of their appearance; be careful how you judge people. Every human being has tremendous value.

Sean & Leigh Anne Tuohy’s new book, In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving, is in stores.
