The Kay Detrick Owen Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by The ARC Manor Foundation to support the education of students who plan to major in, or are currently studying for a degree in, the social services.
Scholarship Details
One or two scholarships will be awarded annually for post-secondary education in the social services, especially related to providing service to clients struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Preference will be given to Armstrong County residents. One scholarship is for a high school senior. One scholarship is for an adult or non-traditional student. The scholarship is a nonrenewable gift of $500.
The eligible applicant will:
- Be accepted by, or currently enrolled at, an accredited college, university, or other post-secondary institution in the United States.
- (If applicant is a high school senior) enroll with a major in a social/human services field. Preference will be given to a student pursuing a degree in the drug & alcohol field.
- (If applicant is NOT a high school senior) be enrolled in a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree program in the drug & alcohol field.
