The Evelyn R. Benton Nursing Scholarship Fund
Evelyn Benton was a wonderful mother, friend and mentor. As a professional nurse, Evelyn had empathy, kindness and respect for her patients. She inspired and encouraged her colleagues and co-workers and was a role model for so many throughout her life. The Evelyn R. Benton Nursing Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of Evelyn by her family.
Scholarship Details
The scholarship is a nonrenewable gift of $350.
The eligible applicant will:
- Be a resident of Armstrong County
- Be enrolled in a nursing major at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, nursing school, or vocational school in the United States.
Essay Question: Please attach an essay of 500 words explaining you choice of nursing as a career. Include the following:
- your personal traits and experiences that you believe would make you a great nurse
- your role models and how they have influenced you
- your career goals and aspirations
- your reasons for wanting this scholarship and the importance of this scholarship to the achievement of your career goal
