Text: 10 May 2012

We had an outstanding turnout for Armstrong County’s first Day of Giving, on Thursday, May 12, 2011! It was a pleasure to have been given the chance to give back to the nonprofit organizations in our area thanks to our generous and wonderful community. We give a warm welcome to those who would like to join us in our next Day of Giving venture on Thursday, May 10, 2012!

How It Works

The Challenge Fund matches donations made to eligible organizations on the Day of Giving, which will be on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Last year we were able to match $25,000!

Day of Giving Guidelines

  1. *Eligible nonprofits must complete a profile by April 30, 2012 on the ACCF website to be eligible, and submit a copy of their IRS Determination Letter. Other Foundations and religiously affilliated organizations are not eligible to participate, unless they are raising money for a particular special community project that serves the entire community. Based on the submitted information, ACCF will determine if the organization is eligible. If it is, the profile will be published on the Day of Giving website.
  2. Each participating organization is eligible to receive funds with no maximum limit for the organization; HOWEVER, only gifts up to $5,000 will be matched. Donations must be at least $20 minimum. Organizations are prohibited from donating to themselves.
  3. All contributions for eligible nonprofits must be made payable to the ACCF, with the organization designated to qualify for matching funds from the Challenge Fund.
  4. Every participating/approved organization that receives contributions during the Day of Giving will receive a portion of the match. The matching dollars will be pro-rated, and will depend upon the total amount of the Challenge Fund and the total amount of donations received.
  5. All qualifying contributions must be received on or postmarked on May 10, 2012. Online*, check, and cash contributions will be accepted. Donations hand delivered after business hours can be left in the mail slot. The address is 160 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201. *Please note that ACCF will not absorb the online fees in 2012–they will be deducted from the total online gift.  Nonprofit organizations may chose to ask their online donors to give a few extra dollars to cover this cost.
  6. The ACCF is not eligible to participate or receive matching funds.

*Eligible nonprofits must be 501(c)3 organizations in or serving Armstrong County.
