Did you know?  As we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, read about 10 nonprofits that helped shape his life here, from Blue Avacado.

President-elect Barack Obama has asked the nation to celebrate Martin Luther King Day as a day of service. Volunteering opportunities exist in abundance–contact your favorite nonprofit organization or place of worship.

In the true spirit of volunteerism, friends from the United Methodist Church in Whitesburg have begun serving a hot meal to the less fortunate once a month at the Armstrong County YMCAJoanne Hagofsky (above, forefront) serves hot chili.  In addition to chili, the meal included hot or cold drinks, fruit, bread & butter, and a dessert.  Each individual was also offered a package of personal hygiene items.  Stacy Hartman, ACCF staffer, is pictured third from the right.
