Blogging live from the Forum
The Armstrong County Forum for Workforce Excellence, that is. Their tag line is “Workforce Excellence Together,” and YOU can be involved. Working together at Lenape Tech today, educators, employers, government officials, community leaders, and high school students (great idea!) are determining the actions we need to take to make our communities grow and succeed. David English of the Armstrong Educational Trust is the point of contact, but I unfortunately could not find anything about the Forum or their recommendations on their website–a huge missed opportunity to engage the community in these efforts and one that they intend to correct this year. The Forum has an excellent 19 points (a summary of recommendations made by breakout groups at last year’s kick-off session) that we will review and critique today. ![]()
Our table had the opportunity to speak with Tyler and Jess, juniors from a local high school, who volunteered to be the recorder for our group and the speaker–great leadership skills already. Groups are evaluating the original 19 recommendations and identifying the ones that we should focus on in the coming year. As I get more information on the Forum and the recommendations, I will post the resources for your information and involvement.
