Harper Lee Biographer Visits Armstrong County

The Armstrong Concert Band entertained us with musical selections from the 1930′s. 

 Best-selling author of Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee, Charles Shields gave us a fascinating look into Harper Lee’s life.

Armstrong County Community Foundation board president Patty Kirkpatrick presented 5 student essay winners with award certificates and checks.  Pictured with Commissioner Kirkpatrick is first place winner Adam Moyer, Kittanning High School.  Second place went to Meaghan Volek, also of KHS; third place to Claire Wolfe of Ford City High School; two Honorable Mentions went to Kaitlyn Heginbothan of KHS and Elizabeth Cujas of FCHS.  Congratulations!
